Intha Fisherman, Inle Lake

A man must carry knowledge....
'Intha Fisherman', Inle Lake, Myanmar

Location: Inle Lake, Shan State, Myanmar

An Intha fisherman perches on the bow of his canoe.

The Intha are famous for the rowing style - they stand on the prow of their canoe, so as to see into the shallow waters of the lake, and row with the help of their legs to prevent their arms getting tired. They are often called 'leg-rowers'.
